Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies

I love a good, easy, shortcut dessert recipe.

If I can use a box of cake or jarred frosting, I will. Shortcuts are an integral part of my cooking.

This recipe called to me because of its shortcut: it uses boxed brownie mix for the base.

There really is no reason to make your own brownies. The boxed stuff really tastes exactly like homemade brownies. Sorry—I can’t tell a difference. At all.

Using boxed brownie mix just makes things go by faster. Why make it homemade if you can’t taste the difference?

The rest of this recipe is easy peasy, too. You also need pre-made, jarred caramel (another shortcut!). I love how the pretzels, which are baked into the brownies, stay crispy even after baking.

It’s truly a great recipe. Sweet, salty, crispy and crunchy. The brownies also all end up with the texture of a corner piece: crispy and slightly gooey in the middle!

Enjoy!
