Grandma’s Cauliflower Salad

You have those cherished family recipes, right?

Like the little brown piece of paper with a scribbled on recipe of Christmas sugar cookies? Or maybe a roast chicken recipe your mom has been making for decades?

My family has loads of those beloved recipes.

We’ve got my mom’s potato salad, chicken fried steak, fried chicken, breakfast casserole, and Francine salad. My aunt has the shrimp dip, spicy saltine salad, and green chile pork stew. My grandma is the queen of beloved family recipes: meat dressing, sugar cookies, coffee cake, ranch cucumbers and cauliflower salad.

We’ve been eating this cauliflower salad in the summer months ever since I can remember. It’s simple and doesn’t take many ingredients, but it sure tastes nice on a hot summer day.

I left out one ingredient of my grandma’s favorite cauliflower salad: the green bell pepper. The only reason I left it out is because I forgot to pick one up at the grocery store. Oops.

Other than that, this recipe is pretty much verbatim what my grandmother used to make. It’s a delicious salad that goes great with burgers, sandwiches, ribs and barbecue chicken.

Enjoy!

PS: If you want to take this to a potluck or cookout, double or triple the recipe. This is enough for just a small family below.
