A long time ago, Subway used to have a sandwich called Seafood Sensation.
It consisted of imitation crab and mayonnaise, and that’s about it. But it was SO good. It ended up being one of my favorite subs and Subway.

They took it off of most menus a few years ago (I think you can still get it in some markets) and I’ve been sad ever since.
The other day, though, I thought about making a Seafood Sensation sandwich but in pasta salad form. I figured it shouldn’t be too hard to make.
Instead of just using crab, though, I decided to throw in some salad shrimp. All in all, this pasta salad filled the void that the Seafood Sensation sandwich left in my heart.
Pasta for Your Pasta Salad
Any good pasta salad starts with a well-cooked, well, pasta.
You need to make sure you don’t over cook your pasta. If it’s too floppy and loose, it will just disintegrate in the salad.

I like to cook my pasta just to al dente, then drain and rinse it quickly to cool it off and stop the cooking process. A lot of people don’t like to rinse cooked pasta because it gets rid of flavor, but trust me on this one.
For the Seafood Sensation Pasta Salad, make sure you use small or medium shell pasta. You do not want to use large shells. I prefer the small shell pasta so that everything is uniformly shaped.
You have to use shell pasta, though, to go with the ocean theme. This Seafood Sensation Pasta Salad deserves it.

Dressing Your Seafood Sensation Pasta Salad
The dressing for this Seafood Sensation Pasta Salad is simple: mayonnaise, Old Bay, and lemon juice.
You can add a smidge of salt and pepper, too, but really you don’t need much else.

I like to keep it simple like this to let the other ingredients shine. The crab and shrimp are flavorful, and the cucumber adds the perfect crunch.
One thing you can add, if you’re feeling spicy, is some hot sauce. Otherwise, this dressing is perfect just the way it is.
Enjoy!
