I think we’re finally out of the woods when it comes to winter weather.
It’s mid-March, the stinky Bradford Pear trees are starting to bloom, and the rains are coming. I guess a slow-moving rain storm will park over us Monday into Tuesday. If that doesn’t scream spring, I don’t know what does.
To herald in the new season, I’ve been putting a spring into my step–er, food. More fresh veg, fresh herbs, more grilling. Less soups, stews and the like. You know how it works.
This recipe is one I’ve been eye-balling for quite sometime now. Of course, I can’t eat the buns, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a good burger. This one is a little different, what with the taco seasoning mixed in and the salsa-crema to serve it with. It was just the right recipe I was looking for during a sunny & warm weekend.
I made my own taco seasoning for this since it’s so easy to DIY. Here’s all you need:
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Dried oregano
- Dried cilantro
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- salt & pepper
Mix that all together for a great, homemade taco seasoning. I’ll have all the measurements down below.
Enjoy!
